Call for Applications

The Owens Institute for Behavioral Research (OIBR) is soliciting applications for our 2026-2028 Grant Development Program.

The program targets faculty members in the social and behavioral sciences at UGA who have not previously received major extramural support for their research. Faculty members are selected based on their potential to successfully pursue extramural grant funding for research projects in the social and behavioral sciences during the program period. The program is 2 years in duration, and participants are expected to submit at least one research proposal for extramural funding through OIBR during that time.

The application includes: (1) an approval form signed by the Department Head (form below), (2) a curriculum vitae, (3) an overview of the applicant’s primary research agenda. In the overview, please include: a) research interest keywords, b) brief summary of the applicant’s area and focus (1/2 page), c) description of the research project that would be the basis of the grant proposal to be developed and applicant’s qualifications for conducting this research (1 page), and d) one or more potential funding sources for an extramural application, if known.

More detailed information on the OIBR Grant Development Program page.

Applications are due May 1, 2026. All materials must be submitted as one application packet via email to OIBR (oibr@uga.edu).
